iPhone 13 may drive away superstitious shoppers, study says

The Apple is already preparing for the launch of an innovative line of smartphones in 2021, and some leaks feed user expectations around the world. However, a considerable portion of users may feel uncomfortable if the cell phones follow the company’s naming standard and reach the market as ” iPhone 13 “. According to a survey, one in five clients declare themselves to have triskaidekaphobia, an abnormal fear of the number, considered a sign of bad luck in different cultures.

Who brings this revelation is SellCell, whose research indicates that 18.3% of respondents would not be comfortable purchasing a device that carries the number 13. The study shows that 74% of users would prefer the cell phone to have another name, with 38% suggesting iPhone (2021) – or iPhone 21 (16%), iPhone 12S (13%) and iPhone 14 (7%).

Finally, 81.7% stated that their purchase decisions would not be affected by the detail. In total, 3,000 people answered the questions, and, according to the sample, men (24.9%) are about twice as likely to suffer from triskaidekaphobia compared to women (11.7%). Impressions related to actions already disclosed were also part of the study.

Finally, 36% would choose to purchase an iPhone 12 if they needed, necessarily, to update their equipment. The Digital Legacy tool, scheduled to land on new systems, was also the subject of the research. Talking about the function that would guarantee access to iCloud data to “guardians” chosen by the owners, 53.1% approved the measure, as long as they could control what information would reach the heirs (71%).
