‘Mortal Kombat’: listen to the new version of the movie theme song

The work was highly praised by Simon McQuoid, the film’s director. “Ben and I knew we needed to use the immortal classic ‘Techno Syndrome’ as the source for the entire ‘Mortal Kombat’ soundtrack. But we also knew that we had to create an updated version, and Ben delivered that,” said McQuoid, who has his debut work in theaters in the feature.

“When they called me, I knew the responsibility that comes with scoring a franchise so rooted in pop culture and with such a passionate fan base. My first question was what could we do with ‘Techno Syndrome’, a song that is part of the DNA of the game and the original films?” recalled Wallfisch. The composer highlighted that the remix is ​​a celebration of the world of Mortal Kombat and the fans.

The film opens in Brazil on May 13th. The New Line Cinema feature is produced by James Wan (‘Saws’ and ‘Aquaman’), Todd Garner, E. Bennett Walsh and director McQuoid. Greg Russo and Dave Callaham sign the script. ‘Mortal Kombat’ will have an 18 year rating, much darker and bloodier than those early 1990s.
