Apple launches app to test devices with ‘Find My’

Apple has released the new Find My Certification Assistant app  , designed for MFi (Made for iPhone) certified developers and manufacturers. The purpose of the apple brand is to enable integration of third-party devices with the Busca network, which helps the user find lost Apple devices such as iPhones , AirPods and Mac computers.

The application offers several test options for tracking. The sound command, for example, issues alerts when the device is lost. Another test that can be performed is on key, NFC and power management.

The company has not yet specified a category for the application in the App Store , but everything indicates that in the future it will be a program fully integrated with the Search tool. The app’s launch is a step towards the goal of opening up Apple’s Find My network to third parties, along with the new AirTags accessory , a key-tracker, which should be released soon and integrate the Search network.

Apple recently updated Find My to include a new tab called “Items,” expanding the app’s support for AirTags and third-party accessories such as Tile and others. This “Items” tab is enabled in the latest beta version of iOS 14.5, where the app explains how Find My will be able to help users keep track of their everyday items, including accessories and other items compatible with the app. .

It is noteworthy that, when launched, the application brings an icon that shows three items: headset, backpack and suitcase. Apple has not yet commented on the launch of the new application.

Possible new “Find My Apple” feature tells you if you are being tracked

The “ Find My Apple ” app , used to help iOS users find their devices if they’re lost or stolen, may be getting a new feature that tells you if you’re being tracked. The purpose of the functionality would be to protect customers from harassment.

The feature has already been added to the beta version of iOS 14.5 and should be labeled “Item Security Alert”. According to  The Verge , the user will receive a notification with the message “There is a device moving with you”, which will give the customer the option to remove or disable it.
