The situation of the coronavirus in Brazil remains in critical condition: until last Thursday (8), the country registered 345,025 deaths by Covid-19 and 13,279,857 confirmed cases of infected. Faced with the current health crisis, donations have become great allies to minimize the damage caused by the pandemic that devastates the world.
And contributions are not restricted to cash amounts. The coronavirus pandemic has aggravated problems such as lack of food, lack of basic hygiene products, Covid-19 prevention kits (composed of alcohol gel, masks and gloves, for example), in addition to various assistance services.
This means that regardless of how the person is going to make donations, each philanthropic act done can help to curb the number of deaths in Brazil — whether or not they are linked to the coronavirus.
Fortunately, many institutions have intensified the collections of donations. Some of them, even, do not even require amounts of money or services.
If the coronavirus pandemic was able to arouse the need to help others, below are good options for websites and applications that have facilitated donations in times of pandemic.
Donations “for free”
Donations through Ribon can be made either through the website or through the mobile app. And for free.
Basically, Ribon hosts projects opened by funders. As the amount is raised before the project is open for donations, the entire initial amount raised is distributed among the platform users so that they can make small donations for free — a kind of credit concession.
With this, some users may be interested in the experience and, consequently, decide to donate more money to the project. The result is that the initial investment can increase by up to 60% at the end of the term.
Donations by apps
Several applications have improved the collection of donations during the coronavirus pandemic.
Picpay users, for example, can access the app’s donation center. It is possible to consult various social causes throughout Brazil and contributions can be made with just one click.
The iFood also has a specific tab to receive donations, located in the sections of the profile. Contributions include food baskets and ready-to-eat meals. About R$3.9 million have already been collected until last Thursday.

Contribute with your income tax
The Solidarity Tax organization allows taxpayers to donate 3% of their income tax to educational institutions. The donation format has the potential to raise around R$4 billion that can benefit thousands of social institutions.
Interested parties can access the website www.impostosolidario.org.br and follow the step-by-step instructions on how to make donations.
volunteer
It is possible to volunteer even in times of social distance. Atados, for example, allows volunteers to engage neighbors and neighborhood residents and create collection points for donations.
In addition, the site allows cash contributions: each food basket is purchased for a contribution of R$63.
Use government channels
You can also use government portals (federal, state or municipal) to make a contribution.
The “Todos por Todos” program is an initiative of the Federal Government “to stimulate the solidarity movement, capturing offers of services to the population and proposals for donations to governments, to fight the new coronavirus pandemic”.
The portal accepts cash donations or even through products and services offered by companies.
