iPhone has a built-in tool that identifies external sounds in the environment. With that, the Apple device is able to alert about noises that could indicate the beginning of fire. To use the feature, the phone’s sound recognition must be turned on. Follow the tutorial and learn how to use the detector.
The functionality was developed from version 14 of iOS and has not only the fire detector, but several security options, which can be used even in activities at home such as warning that someone is knocking on the door, honking, or even that a baby is crying.
The purpose of the tool is to help people with hearing impairments, since when creating a danger alert the cell phone issues a notification on the device screen. The technology works the same way as “Siri”, which uses artificial intelligence to capture sounds in the environment and talk to users.

How to activate fire detector on iPhone?
1. Enter “Settings” on your cell phone, tap “Accessibility” and then “Sound Recognition”;
2. Activate the selector switch and click on “Sounds” to choose the type of alert you want to create. Then activate the alarm switches for “Smoke” and “Fire”. If “What’s up Siri” is turned on, iPhone will ask for confirmation to turn it off and use voice recognition only. This is because the device understands that the resource is used by people without hearing;
3. To go back to using Siri, simply disable the sound recognition selector switch;
4. In iPhone Control Center you can also configure your alert types. To do this, press the sound recognition icon on the shortcut and add or remove the “tick” from the options.
It is noteworthy that Apple warns not to rely solely on Sound Recognition to avoid dangerous situations. The tool helps but should not be used as the only option in an emergency.
