Microsoft presented this Tuesday (4) its new version of the ultra-thin Surface Laptop. In the fourth generation, the Surface Laptop 4 offers consumer configurations to suit all tastes, including 11th generation Intel CPUs as well as options with AMD Ryzen (Zen 2) processors with AMD Radeon Graphics “Microsoft Surface Edition” graphics chip.
Since its launch in 2017, the Surface Laptop is, for many, a strong contender for the award for best ultra-thin laptop with Windows 10 . In addition to the elegant look, which mixes the aluminum finish and the Alcantara fabric, the third version of the gadget is still on sale at a competitive price abroad, making it a viable option against its main competitor, the MacBook Air . The Surface Laptop 3, with a Core i5 processor, 13-inch screen, 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD, can be found in the US for US$769 (about R$4,400 in direct conversion).
The entry-level Surface Laptop 4, with AMD Ryzen CPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD, starts at $999 (just over $5,700). The version with a 15-inch screen and an AMD processor will cost US$ 1,299 (about R$ 7,430). Faster processors, more storage and other options are available at more expensive prices.
AMD model with extended battery
The AMD CPU model also guarantees excellent battery life. Microsoft says the model has a battery life of up to 19 hours, making it the product with the most autonomy in the entire Surface line.
No changes are expected in the screen, which follows with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2256 x 1504 pixels (2496 x 1664 in the 15 inch version). The webcam also remains at 720p resolution. The USB-A and USB-C ports have not changed, and the device will not support Thunderbolt technology .

For those who prefer a simpler look, Microsoft will offer an all-aluminum version of its new notebook. Other colors include: black, platinum and a new “Ice Blue” option.
The Surface Laptop 4 is now available on a pre-order basis in the US, and the first orders will be shipped this Thursday (15th). Customers who make a direct purchase from Microsoft or Best Buy until 15/04, toast receive the headphones Surface Earbuds.
