After launching four new cell phones from the ‘Galaxy A’ line in Brazil, Samsung is preparing to bring another model from the mid-range smartphone family to the market. This time, images of the Galaxy A82, which will be sold as Galaxy ‘Quantum2’ in South Korea, were revealed this Thursday (8) on an Asian portal , revealing some details about its technical sheet before the official launch.
One of the changes is that the device dispensed with the flip front camera, something striking in its older brother , the Galaxy A80 (model launched by the South Korean giant in 2019). The A82 will have a traditional cutout at the top of the screen to house its front camera and will be made with a metal frame, as well as a triple camera setup.
Galaxy A82 Specifications
The device, which should come standard with Android 11 based on the OneUI interface, will feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and FDH+ resolution. Another differential compared to its predecessor is its water resistance, as a result of its IP67 certification.
About the chipset, the leak says that the Galaxy Quantum2/A82 may come with the SoC Snapdragon 855+ or Snapdragon 860 , Qualcomm’s new processor for premium mid-range phones. The datasheet also includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal space expandable via microSD card.
Moving on to its rear cameras, the device will have a 64 MP main sensor with optical stabilization feature (OIS). Details about the other two sensors on the rear and the front camera remain unknown.
The A82 will be equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery. Although the power adapter included in the box is 15 Watt, the device will support 25 Watt fast charging.
In South Korean retail, the model will also include a clear protective case and headphones. As a bonus, operator SK Telecom will offer a pair of Galaxy Buds Live to consumers who buy the Samsung phone during the pre-sales regime, which starts next Tuesday (13th).
It is noteworthy that the accessories that come with the product in the A82 variant, which will be sold in international retail, may be different. Finally, the gadget is almost certainly compatible with 5G technology.
The smartphone, which will be sold in black and white color options, is also expected to offer Dolby Atmos speakers, a fingerprint reader integrated into the display and support for the Samsung Pay platform.
